I do… a lot. The great thing about being a health writer and editor is that I have a very specific—and widely applicable—set of skills. My experience researching, reporting, writing, and editing translates to a slew of different projects and assignments that require those skills.
Below is a rundown of the type of work I regularly do.
- Reporting and writing health and fitness content for editorial outlets (both digital and print) including Self, Women’s Health, Livestrong, Runner’s World, Martha Stewart Living, Outside, HealthCentral, TripSavvy, and more
- Hourly and project-based editing for health and fitness publications (sometimes with a focus on SEO)
- Testing fitness and outdoor gear and writing reviews and shopping content
- Writing branded content for editorial outlets, working with the editorial and marketing teams to meet creative goals and KPIs
- Content marketing—I’ve covered health, health care, fitness, and even finance topics for multiple brand blogs
- Copywriting workout and exercise descriptions for a major fitness app
- Researching, writing, and factchecking health-focused video scripts for editorial outlets
- Performing background research on health and wellness topics for additional projects (i.e. podcasts)
Don’t see what you need on that list? Ask me about it! I love flexing my editorial muscles in new ways, and can let you know if it’s something I can do or if it’s beyond my skillset. I’ll be honest—I want us both to be happy!
